COMMISSIONING “Building commissioning provides documented confirmation that building systems function according to criteria set forth in the project documents to satisfy the owner’s operational needs.” BCA Website HISTORY In the late 1990s, Clayco saw the need to verify their buildings being completing were operating properly for their clients. While this philosophy seems rather intuitive, it has proven to be a key separator for Clayco. Our initial “grass roots” need developed into additional opportunities for their Technical Services division to advance Clayco’s benefits for their Clients. This need allowed the group to develop a planned procedure to validate that equipment was operating properly, essentially de-bugging the building for their Clients.
LEED COMMISSIONING With the enduring energy behind the LEED movement, Clayco has found their commissioning expertise having additional benefits and need. Our experience and extensive history has provided the framework for our Technical Services department to comply with the Energy and Atmosphere Commissioning Prerequisite. If the owner should choose to have an independent commissioning agent, Clayco will pre-commission the project, thus assuring a smoother process.
