Save-A-Lot, Ltd. - Edgerton
Edgerton, Wisconsin Clayco Construction Company built its fourth distribution facility for St. Louis-based Save-A-Lot, Ltd. in Edgerton, Wis. Construction on the approximately $14.5 million facility was completed in the spring of 2002.

The one-level, 300,208-square-foot Save-A-Lot distribution facility includes a five-zone refrigerated area, a dry goods area and office space. Located on Interstate Boulevard in Edgerton, the facility is constructed of load-bearing tilt-up walls with steel supports. Additionally, the freezer and cooler areas utilize insulated concrete panels.

The 88,645-square-foot refrigerated zone includes minus 10 F and 0 F freezers, a 28 F meat cooler, and 36 F and 55 F coolers. The chilled area features 32-foot clear-height ceilings and 20 dock doors.

Save-A-Lot`s dry goods area will contain 198,612 square feet with 28-foot clear height ceilings and 35 dock doors. The 12,951 square feet of office space will include a conference room, break room, dispatch area and facilities for drivers and warehouse personnel.

Parking is available for 196 passenger vehicles and 74 trailers, and there are 55 trailer stalls. The facilities are served by 1800kw of electrical power and include an ESFR sprinkler system.
