Save-A-Lot, Ltd - Austinburg
Austinburg, Ohio Clayco Construction Company completed its sixth distribution facility for St. Louis-based Save-A-Lot, Ltd. in 2003. Located in the Sidley Industrial Park in Austinburg, Ohio, the $16 million distribution facility was completed on a fast-track schedule.

The one-level, 332,750-square-foot Save-A-Lot distribution facility includes a five-zone refrigerated area, a dry goods area and office space. Constructed primarily using load-bearing concrete tilt-up walls with structural steel supports, the facility utilizes insulated concrete tilt-up panels in freezer and cooler areas.

The 106,790-square-foot refrigerated zone includes minus 10 F and 0 F freezers, a 28 F meat cooler, and 36 F and 55 F coolers. The chilled area features 32-foot clear-height ceilings and 24 dock doors. Save-A-Lot`s 213,000-square-foot dry goods area has 28-foot clear-height ceilings and 38 dock doors. The 12,960 square feet of office space includes a conference room, break room, dispatch area, and facilities for drivers and warehouse personnel.

Parking is available for 192 passenger vehicles and 72 trailers, and there are 62 trailer stalls. The facilities are served by 1800kw of electrical power and include ESFR and "large drop" sprinkler systems.
