LEED Project

The 10-story, 206,000-square-foot research building is currently registered LEED NC and will incorporate a significant amount of open space area with greatly reduced stormwater runoff amounts from previously developed conditions. The mechanical systems will operate at energy efficient levels well below the energy code, considering the project will require 100 percent outdoor air supply at all times. A high recycled material content percentage is being achieved as the project progresses, and an educational Web site has been established to promote and educate users about the building, construction and use.
The building will feature a contemporary design of steel, brick and glass on the exterior. Serving as an anchor to SLU’s Health Sciences Center, the building will be surrounded by a significant amount of open space and landscaping. Final LEED NC Silver Certification is expected by summer 2007.

The building includes a 10-story tower at the north end of the site, near Grand and Chouteau, with the first two floors extending toward the south and connecting in a covered walkway to the SLU School of Medicine.
