LEED Project
The 172,000-square-foot, four-story corporate office/lab/pilot plant building located on the CORTEX campus is currently registered LEED NC and will embrace sustainable design features. Careful collaboration between the design, construction and ownership team is occurring on a regular basis to continuously challenge each LEED credit and identify potential innovation credits. Project completion is scheduled for 2008, with final LEED NC certification by summer of 2008.

Clayco Inc. has completed design-build of The Solae Company’s new global headquarters in St. Louis. Substantially complete in December 2007, the facility features 80,000 square feet of state-of-the-art research labs, 70,000 square feet of office space, and a 15,000-square-foot pilot plant. Solae also is pursuing certification in the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program for improved indoor air quality, using construction materials from within 500 miles, managing construction waste, daylighting and energy efficient electrical and HVAC systems.
