Project Description
Clayco completed design-build of a one-story replacement branch for Fort Knox Federal Credit Union. The branch features 6,200 square feet of space for additional lobby tellers and 2,700 square feet for the drive-thru lanes and canopy. The drive-up lanes were constructed using a “double stacking” method to increase drive-thru capacity without developing additional land. This method allows drive-up tellers located inside the building to be arranged for maximum efficiency with two-way audio/video links. Two-sided access to the tube stations permits tellers to adjust their efforts based upon demand for the drive-up lanes.
The credit union was designed with a modern yet traditional feel. Design features include glass walls between the offices and lobby, high ceilings, metal grillwork, antique replica lamps and pendant lighting. The exterior is composed of brick with precast accents.
When possible, the Clayco team utilized sustainable elements, such as recycling demolished asphalt paving, using new materials with high-recycled content, and building an energy-efficient white thermoplastic polyolefin membrane roof for the low-sloped areas.
