Project Description

Clayco completed a 457,701-square-foot distribution facility for Anixter Inc. Located in Cook County, Ill., the project was completed in less than a year. The warehouse is Anixter’s Midwest headquarters for the distribution of wire, cable and other electrical components, as well as the new work home for more than 200 employees. The one-story building is a new signature facility that sets a standard for the future, receiving LEED certification and green building status while being on the forefront of technology. Clerestory windows, skylights, energy-efficient fluorescent lighting and recycled steel all offer an environmentally friendly design. The Alsip warehouse was Clayco’s second project for Anixter. Clayco previously completed the company’s $10 million, 176,000-square-foot world headquarters at the site of the former Glenview Naval Air Station in Glenview, Ill.
