St. Louis, MO (March 28, 2011)
Clayco Inc. has been named design-builder by Caterpillar for its North American hydraulic excavator plant in Victoria, Texas.
Located just west of Houston, the North American hydraulic excavator plant will feature more than 900,000 square feet of space and provide subassembly, assembly, painting, and final inspections of various models of hydraulic excavators. The single-story facility will be constructed using a tilt-up concrete wall system and will include a central chilled water plant, water reclaim system, assembly conveyors, industrial paint lines, and an extensive overhead crane system. The project is expected to be completed in mid-2012.
“We are excited to expand our relationship with Caterpillar and we look forward to working closely with the City of Victoria to make this project a great success for all key stakeholders,” said Anthony Johnson, project executive at Clayco.
In addition to Johnson, Clayco’s team includes Executive Vice President and Partner Dave Moses, Gregg Ernst and Perry Esslinger as project directors, and Ryan Carson as project engineer. Joining Clayco on the project, Forum Studio is serving as the architect and interior designer, Stock & Associates Consulting Engineers Inc. is acting as the civil engineer, and Alper Audi Inc. is the structural engineer.
