Project Description
Clayco provided design-build services for the 136,000-square-foot world headquarters for Fluor Corporation, one of the world’s largest publicly owned engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance service organizations. Built on a 26-acre site using tilt-up concrete panels clad in natural Texas limestone, the facility includes high-end interior finishes, custom millwork, a commercial kitchen and dining area, a fitness center, a 100-seat auditorium, a history walk depicting Fluor’s history, a three-story glass-enclosed atrium and various meeting rooms.
The building is composed of two office wings linked by a linear three-story atrium containing the primary building entries and reception, vertical circulation, conferencing and executive dining. Amenities for the facility are organized along a connecting “spine” between a 350-car, two-level parking structure and the atrium. This “spine” includes a cafeteria with full kitchen and both indoor/outdoor covered dining areas, a100-seat auditorium, a fitness center and meeting rooms. LEED NC v2.1 certification was achieved with features such as rainwater harvesting, stormwater retention, an eco-friendly parking structure, highly efficient mechanical systems and an envelope with ample year-round natural illumination.
