The Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) is the oldest and largest national patient advocacy organization dedicated to ending the suffering caused by colorectal cancer. In order to increase rates of screening and survivorship, the CCA provides patient support, public education, supports research and conducts advocacy work across America. Clayco was proud to sponsor team “Larry’s Legacy” as a memorial to the late Larry Haman. Larry was diagnosed in August of 2006 with stage 4 colon cancer. The family was told he would probably have a year or so, although Larry never once asked a diagnosis. He lived for over 4 years. He passed away Nov 7th, 2010 at the age of 66. Clayco was proud to make the initial contribution to the Reinhadt Foundation Scholarship for Ji Blanchfield. Ji Blanchfield, was a second year dental student at UMKC School of Dentistry. She was originally from Bangkok, Thailand. She came to the US to continue her undergraduate studies in New Mexico, and later moved with her husband to Kansas City, MO for dental school. Ji was a truly beautiful person, both inside and out. Everyone in her dental class always remarked about her beautiful smile and how she was always so nice and friendly to everyone. The most remarkable aspect about Ji was her compassion about people and her chosen profession. She would always talk about her dream of working with underprivileged people both here and in her home country. Ji was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in October 2011 and she passed away in a very short 2 months. She will be remembered forever!
