CLAYCO COMPLETES JUSTICE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION BRANCH
New building offers sweeping views and high-tech drive-up lanes for members
CHICAGO – Clayco, a national innovator in the design-build industry, announces the completion of the Justice Federal Credit Union in Bridgeport, W.Va. The 20,000-square-foot facility includes branch operations and future tenant space on the first floor, three drive-up lanes with two-way video capabilities, on-site parking for 100 vehicles, and state-of-the-art emergency power systems. The second floor is dedicated to the branch’s data and call center. This facility replaces its previous location and expands member care abilities.
Forum Studio, Clayco’s architecture and design firm, created an upscale facility that not only stands out among the surrounding buildings, but also takes into consideration the importance of creating an inviting workspace. The main entrance has a three-story atrium, and the second story includes floor-to-ceiling windows allowing employees to take in the dramatic views of the local landscape.
It was important to the credit union to create a comfortable space for employees. There are two lounge areas, one within the two-story area allowing employees to enjoy the view. The break room has access to an outdoor balcony, offering a scenic mountain backdrop to those seeking a moment of relaxation.
“The surrounding vistas adjacent to the business park are remarkable. Since many of these employees spend their work time on the phone, we took this opportunity to change their environment with a brand new workspace. The natural light and plenty of seating in open areas, coupled with the modern, streamlined look of the facility, make it a standout among its neighbors,” said Paul Barrath, vice president at Clayco.
Battling record-breaking weather conditions, the team experienced 24 days of work stoppage due to snow, ice and extreme temperatures. Despite working through one of the worst winters in 20 years, the team still finished the project on time, achieving substantial completion on Jan. 16. The Clayco team was able to meet its original deadline by requesting accelerated deliveries of materials, and working overtime and weekend hours.
“This building was a tremendous effort by our design-build team, and stands as a testament to our dedication to delivering world-class results for our clients. While the weather certainly played a role in the overall process, it did not stand in our way in ensuring we were able to turn over the facility on time, as promised,” concluded Barrath.
The Bridgeport branch is part of the larger Federal Justice Credit Union headquartered in Chantilly, Va.
