Clayco Breaks Ground On Warehouse For Intermodal Park
Clayco to work with NorthPoint Development for Inland Port IV Project
CHICAGO (March 13, 2014) – Clayco, a national innovator in the design-build industry, announces construction has begun for a distribution center recently opened by NorthPoint Development in Edgerton, Kan. Smart Warehousing will be the tenant of the 575,000-square-foot warehouse space. Plans include a concrete tilt up structure with multi-story office space and scenic balcony overlooking the intermodal complex. The project broke ground Jan. 9, with an aggressive schedule for completion this year.
“We are excited to begin work on this project. As part of NorthPoint’s development plan, the warehouse will play a role in expediting the shipping and delivery of product throughout the country,” said Anthony Johnson, project executive at Clayco.
This is the first collaboration between Clayco and NorthPoint. Named by Engineering News-Record as the largest builder of warehouses, Clayco has a proven track-record of success with similar projects. Clayco subsidiary Concrete Strategies will be providing foundation, slab on grade, tilt up, and paving services. This was one of the first projects announced for the complex, which began operation in October 2013.
