Clayco Begins Renovation of Stifel Nicolaus Building

New Lobby and Entrance are Included in Renovation Plan

ST. LOUIS (February 6, 2013) – Clayco, Inc. has recently begun work on the 500,000 square-foot Stifel Nicolaus building located at 501 North Broadway in downtown St. Louis. Phase one of the project is expected to be completed by mid-2013.  Phase two is expected to include office levels seven through 12 and require approximately seven additional months.

Initial renovations to the existing building include a new lobby with second floor areas, an updated entrance at Broadway and Washington, a new statue plaza and exterior modifications including new lighting and entry modifications. The new lobby will be completely redesigned to feature a more contemporary look.

“This project creates challenges for us, as the building needs to remain functional while it is being renovated,” Tom Sieckhaus, Partner at Clayco said. He added, “Equally challenging is the fact that materials such as flooring and glass are being shipped from all over the world. This means we have to phase the construction to keep emergency exits clear and manage the delivery of materials.”

Significant partners in this project include The Lawrence Group, Vision Electric, LLC and Murphy Company.

The building will include Stifel Nicolaus offices, along with other tenants.
