Clayco Wins Design Build Institute of America Mid-America Region Design-Build Project of the Year
Express Scripts Technology and Innovation Center Honored with Award
CHICAGO (November 27, 2012) – Clayco, Inc. is proud to announce their recent selection as the Design-Build Institute of America’s (DBIA) 2012 Mid-America Region Project of the Year. Express Scripts Technology and Innovation Center in Berkeley, Missouri was selected as the winning project. The project was done as a joint venture between Clayco and Paric. This is the fifth successful joint venture project between the two firms.
The Technology & Innovation Center is a venue to showcase Express Scripts’ prescription production capabilities. The design focuses on the equipment within a crisp, clean environment. A quarter-mile elevated tour path enables clients to tour the facility, walking above and through the production equipment.
Design-build is a method of project delivery in which the design-build team works under a single contract with the project owner to provide integrated design and construction services. This process streamlines project delivery through a single contract and saves time and money by bringing together designers and builders to work as a unified team with the owner. It encourages a consistent flow of work from initial concept through completion.
Clayco was initially selected as winner in the category of Industrial/Process/Research. After a winner is selected in each category, a panel selects the overall winner for project of the year.
“Clayco is honored to receive this award because it not only highlights our capabilities as builders, but also our ability to adapt to the techniques of the design-build philosophy,” said Tom Sieckhaus, Project Executive. “This was an innovative project carried out by a dedicated team, and they truly deserve this award.”
