Clayco Receives Regional Military Safety Excellence Award
Award recognizes Clayco for creating a culture of jobsite safety
St. Louis, Missouri (August 5, 2011)
Clayco Inc., a national full-service real estate and design-build firm, was recently awarded the Officer in Charge of Construction, Marine Corps Installations East’s Calendar Year 2010 Safety Excellence Award. Clayco was recognized in an official ceremony at the Contractor Executive Safety Forum on July 27 in Swansboro, North Carolina.
This honor, bestowed by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in an annual competition, was a direct result of Clayco’s impressive safety record during the P-882 and P-1212 Dining Facilities project at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. This is a regional award that recognizes companies in the building and construction industry that service Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River, for creating a culture and lasting commitment to jobsite safety.
“The Clayco team prides itself on many things, and safety is at the top of that list. We are an organization where safety is a cornerstone,” said Robert Clark, Chairman and CEO of Clayco. “This award is particularly meaningful because it comes as a result of our efforts for members of the U.S. Armed Forces.”
Commanding Officer Marc R. Delao acknowledged Paul Louzecky, Clayco’s site safety and health officer, for his continuous efforts toward building a strong safety culture throughout the entire project team.
“We fully realize that Clayco’s organization-wide safety culture is taught by great leaders at each project site and shared among all employers and subcontractors, but Mr. Louzecky’s above and beyond effort was certainly the lynchpin for success,” noted Delao. “Clayco’s safety is consistent and in complete alignment with the demanding standards of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and Marine Corps Installations East.”
