Clayco Receives Two Awards From St. Louis Council Of Construction Consumers
St. Louis, MO (Feb. 7, 2008)
Clayco Inc. received recognition for its top-rated safety and diversity initiatives from the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers.
Recognized for zero accidents on the Washington University Central Underground Garage, Clayco received a Best Practices award from the locally based organization. The award exemplifies Clayco’s dedication to best practices validated by the Construction Industry Institutes, a principal construction industry forum for improving the business effectiveness and sustainability of capital functions.
The Central Underground Garage is a three-story concrete parking structure that serves as the foundation for Washington University’s new University Center, which currently is under construction. Completed in June 2007, the parking garage accommodates 523 parking stalls. The 115,880-square-foot University Center is scheduled for completion in August 2008.
A second- time recipient of the Diversity Organization of the Year Award, Clayco was recognized for its upper-level management’s commitment to reaching diversity goals for minority and women-owned firms. Clayco also was honored in 2005.
“Clayco is delighted to be honored with two awards by this respected organization,” said Bob Clark, chairman and chief executive officer of Clayco. “Our outstanding incident record and dedication to inclusion on all construction projects demonstrate Clayco’s commitment to making a difference in the entire construction industry.”
