Clayco Inc. Completes Construction On Rehab Hospital In St. Louis
St. Louis, MO (January 6, 2009)
Clayco Inc. recently completed construction on the St Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. The new $7.4 million facility was a joint venture project with RehabCare Group Inc. and St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.
Completed in one year, the 29,600-square-foot facility provides medical and therapy services for patients requiring inpatient physical rehabilitation, and allows St. Louis and surrounding communities access to superior medical and rehabilitative care. As part of the joint venture agreement, RehabCare and St. Luke’s will collaborate to provide management and staffing services including defined ancillary needs, laboratory and diagnostic services and support services.
Located in west St. Louis County, the new 33-bed building features 25 private and five semi-private suites, an occupational and physical therapy gym, exam rooms, office space, dining room, support area and a formal entry and lobby area. Clayco used a less traditional wood-framing method as a cost and time savings to the client. With the wood frame method, Clayco’s project team constructed the frame walls at an off-site location preserving assembly time on the job site.
“Our team was excited to work on such a unique healthcare facility. The St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital is a great asset to residents in the surrounding St. Louis County region,” said Steve Street, Project Executive at Clayco and on the rehab hospital project. “This facility enhances the quality of in-patient rehabilitation care by uniting two of the region’s best health care providers.”
Clayco’s project team included Kirk Warden, Project Executive, Steve Street, project director; and Rob Bruce, project superintendent. Joining Clayco on the project were Mackey Mitchell, as architect; Stock & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc., as civil engineer; and KPFF, as structural engineer.
