Clayco Leads Industry Again With 2009 Design-Build Award
St. Louis, MO (November 9, 2009)
Continuing its leadership in the design-build sector, Clayco Inc. has been recognized by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) for its innovative work on the Chevron NorthPark Office Building Project. The project received this year’s national Design-Build Award for its exceptional construction of the 300,000-square-foot fast-tracked headquarters.
Presented with the award during the 2009 Design-Build Conference & Expo in Washington, DC, last week, Clayco’s Senior Vice President and Partner Tom Sieckhaus comments, “We are exceptionally proud that our accomplishments on the Chevron project earned such a respected and coveted honor this year. Our team was challenged to provide a state-of-the-art facility quickly, safely and with many sustainable elements. We achieved such amazing success in every aspect of this project only through the joint efforts of the entire design, construction, and subcontractor management teams.”
The overall size and depth of the project, not only in square-footage, but in the fact that the company moved its mission critical business operations and staff of 750 from downtown New Orleans to the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Covington, Louisiana to be outside of the hurricane area, showcases the accomplishment, innovation and achievement of the project. Chevron North Park was the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold certified project in the corporation and in the state of Louisiana.
“Our team was excited to work on such an important piece of redevelopment and with a company committed to sustainability and to remaining within the greater New Orleans area. We anticipate that the innovative concepts expressed through this project will stand as an example for others and provide new insights for the design-build industry,” continued Sieckhaus.
