Clayco Builds New Cutting-edge Branch For Keesler Federal Credit Union
St. Louis, MO (July 14, 2010)
Clayco Inc. was recently named design-builder on a new 6,600-square-foot branch facility in Picayune, Miss., for Keesler Federal Credit Union. Replacing an existing branch location in the area, the Picayune Branch facility will feature state-of-the-art technologies and architecture to increase transaction capacity, as well as enhance member experiences.
The double-stacked drive-up design features video screens at individual stations which will enable two cars in the same lane to be served simultaneously. The video stations also provide a visual convenience for customers during the transaction. Lobby and drive-up tellers will be equipped with high-tech cash dispatch units, which automatically count money for the tellers, increasing the speed and accuracy of cash transactions.
A point-to-point communication system will also connect all private offices with a teller, allowing any staff member to accept and execute a transaction while continuously maintaining dialogue with the member.
“Our new facility will allow us to seamlessly communicate with and serve our growing membership in the area. With the capacity for a six-person lobby teller line, as well as three drive-up tellers, the new Picayune Branch brings exceptional value and convenience to our members and our employees,” said Scotty Broome, President and CEO of Kessler Federal Credit Union. “The many modernizations available in our new building will simplify and enrich members’ visits. For example, our new safe deposit vault uses a hand recognition system for access, so members now may open their safe deposit boxes without staff assistance.”
The architecture of the building also emphasizes the Credit Union’s dedication to enhanced experiences. The structure’s exterior utilizes pre-cast concrete panels for the wall construction and standing metal seam roofing as the roof covering. Additionally, the primary facade to the building features a curved, fan-shaped pre-cast element, and dual entries that extend to the roof. In addition, the site includes on-site parking capacity for 88 vehicles.
The building plans also incorporated architectural technology to withstand severe weather events, including impact resistant glazing, full emergency power systems, an elevated building pad, and an entirely steel frame. The project completion is anticipated for fall 2010.
“We are proud to work on Keesler Federal Credit Union’s new branch. The unique facility is an example of how the credit union is actively improving member conveniences in every interaction through cutting-edge tools, and as a result increasing their ability to meet members’ financial business needs,” said Paul Barrath, Business Unit leader for Financial Facilities for Clayco.
Clayco’s team includes Barrath, project executive Tom Mooney, and project manager Matt Montgomery working as a team with architect and interior designer Forum Studio. Joining Clayco and Forum Studio on the project is Optimal Engineering, serving as structural engineer, Stock & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc., working as civil engineer, and G&W Engineering Corporation, acting as MEP engineer. Landscape and irrigation systems design was performed by Rotolo Consultanst of Slidell, LA.
