The Clayco culture is built on building more than structures. We believe our projects are building communities, and that the jobs don’t stop when the projects open.
We partner with the communities in which we operate, and we’re in it for the long haul, giving time, energy, and resources to the projects and charities that can help build these communities. It is, and will always be, an important part of our identity. We’re working with nonprofit organizations to support education, the arts, medical research, disaster relief and opportunities for minorities, youth and the underprivileged.

Clayco is a major sponsor for the event and our 2012 goal is to expand our team. We would like to become an even more significant participant than last year with more riders and volunteers. Our goal is to get a team of 80 riders along with 25 volunteers.
Once again this year Clayco has a fantastic opportunity to support a great cause - raising money for cancer research. Our sponsorship this year will be the “Ride for a Child.” This is very cool and the cause becomes much more personal. St. Louis Children’s Hospital has matched Clayco’s team up with a young girl who, in November was given her biggest challenge in life. This year Team Clayco will be riding in honor of Maddie. Maddie is 6 years old and is currently fighting a rare type of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. Maddie is the first child assigned to a team.
Last week Maddie, big sister, Mia, little brother, Max, and twin babies Molly and Miranda and parents came to Clayco. It was an emotional meeting and Maddie wore a smile the entire time she at our office. Clayco donated a playset to the McPherson children and recently Clayco employees; Bob Krause, Chuck Rust and Keith Whitley put the set together. Clayco hopes to bring as much happiness and joy to Maddie as we can as she fights her cancer.
Last year, we had 39 riders on Team Clayco and we raised over $25,000 and we had a great turnout from a variety of the Clayco family, including superintendents, designers, project managers and partners and subcontractors. There are different distances of riding for the event to meet any skill level (15, 25, 50 and 75 miles). The event starts Saturday night October 6th with a great pre-ride party downtown with the actual race following on Sunday October 7th. If you do not have a bike, we will find one for you.

The Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) is the oldest and largest national patient advocacy organization dedicated to ending the suffering caused by colorectal cancer. In order to increase rates of screening and survivorship, the CCA provides patient support, public education, supports research and conducts advocacy work across America.
Clayco was proud to sponsor team "Larry's Legacy" as a memorial to the late Larry Haman. Larry was diagnosed in August of 2006 with stage 4 colon cancer. The family was told he would probably have a year or so, although Larry never once asked a diagnosis. He lived for over 4 years. He passed away Nov 7th, 2010 at the age of 66.
Clayco was proud to make the initial contribution to the Reinhadt Foundation Scholarship for Ji Blanchfield. Ji Blanchfield, was a second year dental student at UMKC School of Dentistry. She was originally from Bangkok, Thailand. She came to the US to continue her undergraduate studies in New Mexico, and later moved with her husband to Kansas City, MO for dental school. Ji was a truly beautiful person, both inside and out. Everyone in her dental class always remarked about her beautiful smile and how she was always so nice and friendly to everyone. The most remarkable aspect about Ji was her compassion about people and her chosen profession. She would always talk about her dream of working with underprivileged people both here and in her home country. Ji was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in October 2011 and she passed away in a very short 2 months. She will be remembered forever!.
MFK's mission is dedicated to saving the lives of Haiti's malnourished children and other nutritionally vulnerable people. Clayco is currently providing construction management guidance and support for a new manufacturing plant that will increase the production of Medika Mamba, a ready-to-use therapeautic food product derived from peanuts. The facility will also help drive economic development by creating more jobs and more demand for peanuts from local farmers.
Clayco is a proud sponsor of The Jack and J.T. Snow Fund @ Washington University School of Medicine was created by Stephanie Snow Gebel, Jack's daughter and J.T.'s sister, to raise the necessary funds for the continuation of Wolfram clinics and to raise awareness of Wolfram syndrome. Stephanie decided to start the fund after her youngest daughter, Raquel, was diagnosed with Wolframs in October of 2010. When the Gebel family began to look for information and support, they realized there is very little known about this insidious disease.
The Jack and J.T. Snow Fund @Washington University School of Medicine will help ensure a richer and longer life for all children affected by neurological diseases through continuous funding of research to find a cure for Wolfram syndrome; the creation of a network of resources for families and children who are suffering; and to raise public awareness of these insidious diseases through education and responsible distribution of donations.

JDRF is the worldwide leader for research to cure type 1 diabetes (T1D). It sets the global agenda for diabetes research, and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide. Clayco has been a supporter of JDRF Illinois and is proud to be a volunteer sponsor of the annual Chance of a Lifetime Gala held in December.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. Clayco employees and their families have volunteered their time and resources to further St. Baldrick's mission of finding a cure.

Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Clayco employees and family members have volunteered their time and resources to helping the St. Louis chapter build homes for those in need. Lance Cage, Vice President, also serves as a board member.
The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now—to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. Clayco is a supporter of the Gateway Chapter's MS150 Gateway Getaway Ride, which is a two-day ride through some of the most beautiful scenery Missouri has to offer.

Clayco partnered with the St. Vincent DePaul shelter, a private charity in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area and other relief agencies, to provide supplies for people affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 earthquake with at least 52 after shocks resulting in an estimated 3 million people affected, including 1 million people made homeless. Clayco's Joel Coleman, General Superintendent, and John Biggart, Assistant Superintendent, flew to Haiti as part of Missouri Congressman Russ Carnahan's relief effort. Joel and John accompanied doctors and nurses to assist with construction-related issues at the relief center. Joel said, "I don't remember being able to be this useful ever... we have made wheel chairs from tires off of old generators, cleared a new sewage canal and installed water lines."
